Where Güvenpark sits in central Ankara

Güvenpark is in Kızılay, in Çankaya, between Kızılay Square and the Bakanlıklar district. Its central position makes it a green space within Ankara’s busy city core, rather than a destination set apart from everyday movement around town.

The park covers 25,000 m². Ankara Metropolitan Municipality describes it as a place for rest, meetings and gatherings, as well as an open green link between Kızılay and Bakanlıklar. From Raymar Hotels Ankara, Güvenpark is about an 8-minute walk.

The municipality says the square was completed in 1935 and named after Atatürk’s phrase “Türk, Öğün, Çalış, Güven.” Its design follows Hermann Jansen’s planning approach, with the Güven Monument integrated into the park as part of a symbolic civic space. The monument, designed by Austrian architect Clemens Holzmeister, was also completed in 1935.

What to notice around Güvenpark

Look for the relationship between the green space and the Güven Monument: the monument is not simply beside the park, but forms part of the way the municipality describes the space. That combination of landscape and civic landmark gives Güvenpark a role beyond a place to pause between errands.

The park’s position between Kızılay Square and Bakanlıklar also helps explain its everyday use. You can fold a short visit into time spent around central Ankara, then continue towards the surrounding districts or nearby transit.

Getting there and using nearby transit

GÜVENPARK and KIZILAY are names of EGO bus stops, and some EGO routes also serve other parks in the city. Stop locations and directions vary by route, so check your particular journey rather than relying on a stop name alone.

Kızılay is a shared Ankara Metro and Ankaray station, with a free transfer between the two systems without passing through fare gates. The station connects several metro lines, and its Çarşı level has listed services including toilets, shops, a clinic and a mosque. For help planning connections, see this guide to Ankara metro and public transport.

For current route and station details, check the official site before you go: EGO operates Ankara’s bus and rail services.

Other central green spaces to consider

Other central green spaces to consider

If you want to compare parks in Ankara, Kuğulu Park and Seğmenler Park offer different settings. EGO route listings include connections between Güvenpark and these green spaces, though the route and stops depend on the service.

Kuğulu Park

Kuğulu Park is in Kavaklıdere. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality notes its swans, ducks and geese, along with a small waterfall and a statue of Tunalı Hilmi at the entrance.

It gives you a compact alternative centered on water and birdlife. EGO route listings include Kuğulu Park and Güvenpark stops on some services; check the route details before setting out.

Seğmenler Park

Seğmenler Park opened in 1983 and covers 67,000 m² in the valley between Atatürk Boulevard and İran Avenue. The municipality lists a pool, children’s playground, walking paths, large green areas, an amphitheatre and the Seymenler Monument among its features.

Its range of features and larger area make it a different kind of stop from Güvenpark’s central square setting. EGO route information includes Seğmenler Park and Güvenpark on one listed itinerary; verify the service details before choosing that connection.

Planning a short park walk

For a simple outing, start at Güvenpark, take time to look at the monument and the park’s layout, then continue on foot through the surrounding central area. If you’d rather add another green space, decide between Kuğulu Park’s water and birds or Seğmenler Park’s paths and broader facilities, and use current transit information to plan the connection.

Güvenpark’s location also puts a major Ankara landmark within walking reach from the hotel: Kocatepe Camii. You can make the park part of a central-city walk that includes the mosque, without treating the parks as interchangeable stops.

Facilities and access to check before you go

Available facilities and access details can change, and the information here does not establish current operating hours or availability. For a specific visit, confirm details with the relevant municipality or transport operator. In particular, don’t assume that a facility listed in a municipal decision is open for public use at a particular time.

For a low-key outdoor break, Güvenpark works as a central meeting point and a link between nearby districts. Choose another park if its particular features better fit your route, and check the relevant operator’s information before travelling.
